Just when you felt that you were nearing the end of the waiting and things were home and hosed, so to speak, up jumps something from left field.
With just 24 days to go before we leave, the Good lady has done her left Knee!!
How bad? Bad enough I think to put the holidays in jeopardy, if not over before they start.
Currently she is wearing a brace that covers from above the knee to well below it. She attended the Royal Melbourne Hospital emergency department. They x-rayed the knee, took a biopsy and ruled out both Gout and bone infection, which is good. Didn't do a MIR or altra-sound so we still don't know whats wrong.
She had been suffering with a slight twinge for a couple of weeks and had seen her Doctor who said it was a soft tissue damage... what ever that is.
Sounds like he is Dr. Howlong... you know the type where you walk in and the first thing he says is "How long do you want off".
It goes without saying that the most important thing is Lois's Health and if needs be the trip becomes a distant second behind that.
Countdown 23 Days

The Documents have arrived...YAY!!
Well good news. The trip Documents from Trafalgar Tours have finally arrived at the Flight Centre office and have been picked up.
It seems that this trip will actually go ahead. All tours at this stage are green ticked for definite departure. Hoping that I've not jinxed us by saying this.
All alterations to our early Hotel bookings have been made and every thing appears to be ok.
The paperwork included was for all three tours and optionals, hotel accommodation between tours and the flight between London and Cairo. Having a wee bit of difficulty understanding the flight information for our flight to London and may have to go back to our Travel Agent to get a few more details.
Things have really changed since last I flew, back in the prehistoric days, bit like Freddy Flintstone. What happened to airline tickets? Just a bit of paper printed out from a computer now.
Both of us starting to get a little excited as departure date steadily approaches. Many things still left to be done, albeit only little things.

Has Anyone seen the Vizier, Anyone?
Of all the trips we are doing this year the only one that we need a VISA for is Egypt. (Pictured Right). Now it would appear that we have two choices. We can apply for a visa before leaving or we can wait untill we are in Egypt where you can buy your Visa.
Apparently passport holders from USA, Canada, UK. Australia, NZ and EU can purchase their Visa on Arrival.
Interestingly to obtain your Visa before the trip Costs $40.00 per application for a single entry Visa and you have to leave your passport with the consulate for three days, as well as submitting the required paperwork, then risk its return in the post.
If you buy it on arrival then it costs US$15.00 cash each. There's no forms to fill out. You simply present your passport and they apply the stamp to it.
Now my maths is not that great but US $15 is about $20 dollars Australian. Hmn. I guess we'll pay on arrival.
